Peak business group is excited about a Royal Commission into the state’s nuclear future.
Business SA CEO Nigel McBride has described nuclear energy as “an absolute game changer” for South Australia at a time when “frankly we really do need a game changer economically”.
Mr McBride said all options should be considered, including energy production, enrichment and recycling. “Whatever it is, all of this warrants a great deal of investigation,” he told Jeremy Cordeaux on FIVEAA.
“What we’ve been calling for is not nuclear power… we’re calling for an inquiry and informed debate into that.
“It might not be right for the state, we accept that. But we cant put our head in the sand and say we don’t think big ideas,” he said.
