Adelaide forward Josh Jenkins has made no apologies for the unselfish way the Crows forward line plays, saying it’s much better than the opposite.

During an interview on FIVEAA after Adelaide’s 88-point win over St Kilda, Stephen Rowe told Jenkins he believed the team was “a little bit unselfish in that forward 50”.

“That’s a good thing, isn’t it?” Jenkins replied.

Rowey said unselfishness like that on show when Tex Walker dished to Jenkins who missed a sitter could cost the Crows in a high-pressure match at the end of the year.

“Sometimes you just think when you’re in range, and you know you’ve got the talent, maybe just kick it.”

But Jenkins jumped to Walker’s defence.

“To be fair, Tex kicks that to me and that’s a goal I should probably kick 49 times out of 50.

“We are all about, if there’s someone in a better position, then we want to give it.

“But I hear what you’re saying. [In] High-pressure situations those kicks probably aren’t on.

“That’s a balance,” Jenkins said, “because we never want to be the other end of the spectrum…. Being called too selfish is not a great way to operate.

“We’d rather be a little bit too unselfish than everyone looking for their own.”
