The “brave people” who made complaints against George Pell are “heroes”, says a victims advocate after the Cardinal’s appeal against child sex offences was rejected on Tuesday.

Victims advocate Michael O’Connell told FIVEAA’s Alan Hickey:

“We must not lose sight of the fact some brave people stepped up made complaints and have worn the brunt of criticism… prior to the trial and during the period of the appeal.

“I suggest that they are the heroes, in particular the man who stood and gave evidence in this matter.”
