Adelaide Crows head of high performance Matt Hass is in the firing line following seven hamstring injuries in six weeks at the club.
“The Crows are suffering a hamstring epidemic and it must be fixed now,” AFL hall of famer Warren Tredrea has written in The Advertiser.
“Something is clearly wrong at Adelaide.”
Tredrea has turned up the heat on AFC’s GM of High Performance Matt Hass — upgraded from Head of Strength after Brett Burton’s ‘surprise’ appointment to replace former footy GM David Noble.
“Under Hass’ guidance Adelaide used only 31 players in 2017, the fewest in the competition, and he was lauded by all,” Tredrea writes.
“But after just six rounds in 2018 the Crows have already used 29 players — five more than the competitions best North Melbourne (24).
“Right now, the spotlight is firmly fixed on Adelaide’s fitness and medical department with many asking what’s going on?
“If Adelaide wants to once again go deep into September it will need to quickly fix this hamstring epidemic.
“If it can’t it will quickly de-railing the Crows season.
“Matt Hass and his team are under the spotlight and they have to find the answers quick smart.”
