Club captains have left no doubt as to who they consider the 2017 AFL Premiership favourite…

On Thursday the AFL released the results of its annual captains’ survey, in which captains were asked which other club (apart from their own) would reach the GF in 2017:

GWS – 14 votes

Adelaide – 1 vote

Sydney – 1 vote

West Coast – 1 vote

Western Bulldogs – 1 vote

Asked which other clubs would make the eight, Sydney was the only unanimous pick, closely followed by GWS and West Coast:

Sydney – 17 votes

GWS – 16 votes

West Coast -16 votes

Adelaide – 15 votes

Western Bulldogs – 15 votes

Geelong – 14 votes

Hawthorn – 14 votes

St Kilda – 11 votes

Melbourne – 6 votes

Essendon – 1 vote

Fremantle – 1 vote

On the Brownlow Medal, Patrick Dangerfield was voted favourite to win (with five votes) ahead of Marcus Bontempelli, Dan Hannebery and Dustin Martin who each scored two votes.
