Candice Warner has said sorry to NZ rugby star Sonny Bill Williams after their 2007 ‘toilet tryst’ scandal was used to sledge her husband David Warner during a South Africa cricket tour earlier in the year.

Images of an encounter between Candice and Sonny Bill in the toilet of a Sydney pub made headlines in 2007 before either party had met their current partners.

“It’s time to put it to rest and get on with things that matter,” Candice said in an interview with Women’s Weekly.

“I finally received a weak apology from Cricket South Africa. I realised they’re the ones to feel ashamed, not me.

“I’d like to extend that apology to Sonny Bill. He’s a husband and father, so imagine how his wife would feel and his kids.”

Candice also revealed in the WW article that she suffered a miscarriage in the wake of the disastrous South Africa cricket tour in which David Warner was suspended for ball tampering.
