Ex-Demons midfielder Colin Sylvia has pleading guilty to stealing credit card details which he then used to visit a brothel, buy pornography and gamble online.
According to the Herald Sun, Sylvia copied the card info from a customer at the car dealership where he was working before going on a spending spree.
Sylvia pleaded guilty in a Melbourne court on Monday and his lawyer asked that a community-based punishment be considered instead of jail.
But deputy chief magistrate Jelena Popovic said:
“I have got some real issues around whether your client fully accepts responsibility.
“This is a court where you see many people who had very unfortunate and disagreeable backgrounds.
“When you come across someone who seemingly has everything — there is a real disconnect.”
