Much-loved Aussie cricketer, commentator and author Max Walker, 68, has passed away.

Fox Sports reported that it had confirmed Walker’s passing on Wednesday morning.

Walker took 138 wickets in 34 Tests for Australia, and the loveable larrikin later found further fame working on Channel 9’s Wide of World of Sports and writing humour books filled with cricket anecdotes.

In a tweeted tribute, Kerry O’Keeffe suggested Walker’s passing was due to melanoma.
