The driver of a black Commodore who crashed his car at Daw Park and fled the scene on Tuesday is still at large as discussions with the driver’s passenger fail to assist the investigation, say police.
SAPOL Senior Constable Mick Abbott told FIVEAA Breakfast’s David & Will on Wednesday:
“We have searched a number of homes overnight including a house in the northern suburbs at 2am this morning, but we haven’t located him. We know who we’re looking for and hopefully he will be apprehended soon.
“We want to speak to him regarding a number of charges.”
A 31-year-old woman was a passenger in the car.
“We’ve spoken to her and that really hasn’t assisted our enquiries much further,” Abbott said. “We’re not really sure how long they’ve known each other etc. She was in the front passenger seat but we really don’t know whether she can tell us too much.”
There have been eyewitness reports that the vehicle was travelling at speeds in excess of 150km/h moments before the collision.
According to a SAPOL report on Tuesday:

While a passenger in the Commodore a 31-year-old woman from Adelaide was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a stable condition.
The male driver of the Commodore fled the scene on foot shortly after the crash. Patrols searched the area but the man wasn’t located.
