A practical, low-cost solution for frustrated commuters.

Thanks to road closures for the Clipsal 500 race, the RAA says the average drive from Adelaide’s north-eastern suburbs into the city has more than doubled from 21 to 58 minutes.

Marg Howard from the Department of Transport joined FIVEAA breakfast to talk about a “practical low-cost solution” called Adelaide Carpool.

“Adelaide Carpool is a really simple thing to work,” Marg told FIVEAA.

“Essentially we have this program set up online focusing at the moment on the Adelaide CBD.”

The program allows workplaces to register so it can help employees find potential matches to share drive to work and reduce the number of cars on the road.
