CommBank has told customers it will close its Golden Grove branch at 4pm on Friday 12 July.
The closure will force customers to travel to Tea Tree Plaza, Ingle Farm or Salisbury instead.
Local MP Rhiannon Pearce has started an online petition to save the branch – collecting more than 500 signatures by Tuesday morning.
She told FIVEAA’s Matthew Pantelis:
“It has been an incredibly strong response from the local community.
“Lots of people are sharing their different experiences about why it is so important to them. We’ve hit about 535 to date…
“For a lot of people in my community it would be about a 40-minute round trip to get to the next closest Commonwealth bank.
“I know a lot of services are available online but not everything is available online and not everybody is able to use those services.”
