Kane Cornes says Jordan De Goey’s drink driving incident is proof current players have too much time on their hands.
“They’re on an extended break,” Kane said on FIVEAA. “I know I’ve spoken about this before, but players… they have too much time off. This would not have happened if he had training the next morning.”
“These modern day players get extended breaks, four day breaks, a day off during the week, they get about 12 weeks holiday per year.
“The AFL Players Association has far too much power in how the players are managed. The last thing Jordan De Goey needs is an extended break on the eve of the season.
“It’s crazy. They’re fulltime athletes — get them at the club.”
.@kanecornes says the Jordan De Goey incident wouldn't have happened if he wasn't on an extended break. Players should have less time off and be full-time like they claim to be.
