A man has been charged after allegedly assaulting a woman in Adelaide.

According to SAPOL:

At 12.15pm Sunday 2 March police were called to Rundle Mall after reports that a man had assaulted a woman. The victim, a 43-year-old North Adelaide woman, was taken to hospital for treatment on non-life-threatening injuries.

Members of the public detained the man until police arrived and placed him under arrest. The suspect and the victim were not known to each other.

The 37-year-old Adelaide man has been charged with assault cause harm, resist arrest, refuse to state name, breach of bail and possess prescribed equipment (ice pipe). He did not apply for bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court tomorrow, Monday 3 March.
