Port Adelaide midfield coach Michael Voss says Sam Powell-Pepper has to be short odds to win the AFL’s rising star award.
“He’s a real shining light,” Voss told FIVEAA’s Leith Forrest on Sunday. “He’s had patches in games where he’s been pretty quiet and he just keeps persisting to his strength. He just plays for his teammates and puts his body on the line and crashes in when he needs to.”
“He’s flourishing across the year.
“I’m not into backing your own players because of course you’re going to be biased… but geez, if he’s not in the one or two when it comes to the rising star by the end of the year people aren’t watching the game, as far as I’m concerned.”
