Caroline Wilson says the giant $2.5b TV deal announced last year will prove to be an embarrassment for the AFL.
Wilson said stalled negotiations between Channel 10 and Foxtel and the gradual shift to pay TV was a “disturbing development”.
“Next year, if these talks continue to stall, it’ll be basically an average of 3.5 free-to-air games per week on TV, and the rest of them will be on Foxtel.”
“I believe this will be a real embarrassment for the AFL, because I don’t think it’s good enough that the people’s game has so few games on free-to-air TV,” she said.

Wilson said under the new deal, all Adelaide and Port Adelaide games would still be shown on free-to-air television.
“But if you’re a Bulldogs fan or a Melbourne fan, a smaller Victorian club, you’re not going to get many free-to-air games.
“There’s always devil in the detail, and I think it should be exposed,” Caro said.
