Port Adelaide FC says it continues to support GFG as the company works through a “complex situation”.

GFG – owner of the troubled Whyalla steelworks and PAFC major partner – owes “tens of millions” of dollars to creditors and the SA Government as wells as $15 million in unpaid bills to SA Water.

In a statement given to FIVEAA Breakfast, PAFC CEO Matthew Richardson said:

Port Adelaide is in regular contact with GFG regarding their current business challenges, which are impacting the club, in addition to many of their other business partners.

GFG are an important partner to Port Adelaide, the rest of South Australia, and the community in Whyalla.

The club continues to support them as they work through a complex situation.

Speaking on FIVEAA Breakfast, Will Goodings said the statement was “confirmation this morning that the club too now clearly have outstanding bills”.
