12.52pm — Police say they have excavated to a depth of one-metre and are now 80cm away from the anomaly revealed in ground scans at a North Plympton address.
“I think we will get to that level this afternoon,” Detective Chief Greg Inspector Hutchins said on Friday. “We’re now in sandy soil it is very easy to dig. At this point I do expect to get to the top of the anomaly quite quickly.”
“We’ve excavated to a depth of about a metre. We’ve now hit sandy soil, which is very similar to the soil located in the previous dig.
“The anomaly commences from about another 80cm from where we are now. Once we hit that point there’s approximately another metre below where it’s most prevalent. So we’re still some distance.”
