Stephen Rowe has issued a warning to Adelaide Crows CEO Tim Silvers telling him fans are “coming for the club” following the demoralising loss to Richmond on Thursday.

Richmond 12.7 (79) defeated Adelaide 10.11 (71) in a shock upset at Adelaide Oval on Thursday night.

The Tigers were trailing by a point at half-time but took control of the game with a six-goal third term.

The loss is a hammer blow to Adelaide’s chances of playing finals this year.

Speaking after the match, Crows coach Matthew Nicks said the club is now in “a pretty dark spot”:

“We don’t have excuses… we’re not good enough at this point,” he said…

“We felt confident at the start of the game, we played some footy throughout this game where it looked like we had it, then post-siren we sit in a pretty dark spot.

“As do a lot of our supporters and our members who came out … they have the right to feel that way; really disappointed in what we’re putting out there.”

Reacting to the Nicks press conference, Rowey said the club now risked “football suicide”:

“Are we going to do the same thing with the same people in the same chairs? That is stupidity. That is football suicide.”
