Seafood king Michael Angelakis says the sale of the Angelakis Bros business doesn’t spell the end of his involvement in the industry.
“I’m happy that we’ve left a wonderful legacy of a brand developing South Australian seafood,” Michael told FIVEAA. “We took it nationally, to the international stage, and it continues.”
“I’m still involved in the industry. I’ve still got an oyster farm in Tasmania. I’ve got an aquaculture company and with my mate Keelan we’ve still got ‘Out of the Blue’, which always bring me back to the industry. We’re back in Lincoln in May to start filming the new series.”
Michael said the decision to sell up was a hard one, but the right one.
“It’s 90 years this year that my grandfather came to Australia to start fishing King George whiting. 90 years on and here we are today…”
“A decision had to be made by the family and we looked at it all. At the end of the day it was the right decision to make because there was no other option.”
