Mick Malthouse says we need a pre-season competition.
“I think there were some people suggesting we shouldn’t have a pre-season,” Mick said on FIVEAA’s sports show with Rowey and Bicks.
(One of those making the suggestion was our very own Rowey! Gulp.)
“That’s absolute madness,” Mick said.
“You’ve got to have a pre-season where players get used to running around, running into each other, fierce tackling against an opposition as opposed just to your teammates.
“We want to have good standard games going into the AFL season proper. You just have to have these games,” Mick said.
“You can put whatever players you like out there, but I think the ultimate thing is to get as many players as you can up and ready to play that first game.”
