SA opposition leader Peter Malinauskas has blasted Premier Steven Marshall following confirmation of a FIVEAA Breakfast report that the government is preparing to sell off equipment used to run the axed Adelaide 500 event.

Peter Malinauskas has promised to bring back the event if Labor wins the next election, and he told David & Will on Thursday:

“I was pretty disappointed with the news… I think it shouldn’t be Steven Marshall’s decision about these assets being sold. I think it should be the people of SA’s decision…

“I just think the people of SA should decide. Instead what we’ve got is Steven Marshall sabotaging the people’s voice and in a sign of weakness trying to flog off those assets in a fire sale, not to get best value for taxpayer but to achieve a political objective.

“I think that’s pretty poor form.”
