State Opposition Leader Steven Marshall called into Andrew Reimer’s Thursday night show to respond to a listener’s call to do away with politicians.

“I certainly think we should do away with politicians who don’t want to put the people of South Australia first,” Mr Marshall said.

“Unfortunately for us in South Australia at the moment there’s just too many of those politicians.”

Mr Marshall then launched into a passionate take down of the current government.

“This Labor government’s been in power for 15 years. They don’t want to take responsibility for any single, solitary thing that’s going on in this state. They want to lay blame on everybody else in the entire world other than take any responsibility,” he said. “I don’t know why they want to remain in power.”

“They don’t want to govern in a way which is going to improve our lot.”

Mr Marshall said South Australia had the country’s highest unemployment rate, most expensive health care, highest power prices and the least reliable grid.

“That’s what we have after 15 years of failed Labor administration.

“I can’t believe that Jay Weatherill can hold his head up high walking down the street.”
