SA Premier Steven Marshall says he will “keep my head down” after Prime Minister Scott Morrison singled out NSW for its response to COVID-19.

This week Mr Morrison said NSW had “led the way” through the pandemic.

In response the premier told David & Will on FIVEAA Breakfast:

“This is not a time for pride. We’ve seen what happened over in another state, let’s just say, when they got a bit cocky about matters. The karma bus is a real pain, so I’m just going to keep my head down, keep working as hard as I can. I know that’s the approach of the police and SA health.

“We’re doing well and that is mainly a function of the great cooperation that we have with the people of SA. I’ve said it before and it’s 100 per cent true. The people of SA have had the lowest level restrictions and the highest-level compliance. It’s been a fantastic partnership… we’re now the beneficiaries of a quality of life that doesn’t exist in many other parts of the world…

“But NSW, the prime minister is 100 per cent right. They’ve got a very, very large population. They’ve had some scary times but their public health administration there is excellent and we acknowledge that.”
