Assistant Adelaide Crows coach David Teague says captain Taylor Walker’s biggest improvement has been behind the scenes.

“I think it’s probably the biggest growth in his game is his off field stuff,” Teague told Leith Forrest on FIVEAA.

“He’s always been a very good on field performer. The reason he got [the captaincy] is he has genuine team care and he’ll drag players along.

“He’s wiling to challenge guys. He’s been outstanding.”

Teague also singled out Eddie Betts for his work with teammates:

“Eddie’s been a leader for a long time,” Teague said, “and now he’s getting recognised not only by his peers but the industry.”

“What he does for players, more so off the field than on the field, is incredible. His genuine care for his teammates and people in general is outstanding.”
