A blaze has damaged nearly 50 cars at an auction house at Salisbury Plain overnight.

According to The Advertiser:

The fire was billowing thick black smoke about 1.45am Thursday near Carisbrook Collision Repairs on Main North Rd.

Nearly 40 firefighters rushed to the scene and began extinguishing the fire, which was affecting multiple cars which were stacked three high.

The flames were threatening a nearby shed which stored cars for auction, which is believed to be Pickles Auction House.

According to the MFS:

Firefighters contain a multi-vehicle and shed fire at a commercial premises in Salisbury Plains in the early hours of the morning within 30 minutes. Early damage bill is in excess of $500k.
