A woman has been arrested following a traffic stop in the northern suburbs early this morning.
According to SAPOL:
Just before 1am on Monday 20 February, police were travelling on Peachey Road at Davoren Park and saw a silver Nissan Patrol being driven without headlights.
Patrols stopped the car and spoke to the driver. They noticed an ice pipe in the car and subsequently searched the driver and the vehicle, locating methamphetamine in the driver’s handbag along with a flick knife.
Other drug paraphernalia was located throughout the car along with a hatchet under the driver’s seat.
A 39-year-old woman from Alberton was arrested and charged with trafficking a controlled drug and carry an offensive weapon. She was granted police bail to appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 31 March.
