The collapse of Geelong’s Pyramid Building Society in June, 1990, kickstarted a nation-wide financial crisis and brought on the downfall of a Victorian Premier. But worse than that, it ruined lives. On the 30th anniversary of the collapse, the Geelong Advertiser looks back at the Pyramid saga to see how the building society grew and what ultimately went wrong.
