Gill McLachlan is still clearly unhappy the AFLW grand final has been moved from the Gabba.

“It’s inconceivable you can’t get a ground ready in three weeks to play a game of football,” Gill told Rowey and Bicks on Thursday.

He dismissed any suggestion the AFL should have been keeping a closer eye on the state of the Gabba after it hosted an Adele concert:

“That’s what you hire venues for. You trust the ground staff. Etihad will be paying on Saturday twilight game and there were two Adele concerts last weekend — that’s a six-day turnaround.

“It’s impossible to imagine someone can’t get a venue up to be available within three weeks. We’ve offered the ground Etihad ground staff to go up and run that venue.”

Brisbane will play Adelaide at Metricon Stadium on Saturday in the inaugural AFLW grand final.
