Graham Cornes says Russell Ebert was remembered at a Glenelg function on Saturday night – which included a surprise song choice by the band.

Ebert passed away on Friday, and Cornesy told Rowey’s Sports Show:

“We had the Glenelg centenary gala dinner last Saturday night just gone. So there was a moment where we stopped and there was respectful applause – it was a special moment there.

“Then the band played right at the end and we did ‘Never Tear Us Apart’ in honour of Russell – at a Glenelg function.

“All that Glenelg-Port Adelaide enmity – there’s moments there which transcend all of that. Russell did that because he was Russell Ebert.”
