It was a roller coaster ride of emotions for at least 23 Year 12 students who received the wrong Tertiary Entrance Ranking results when they logged on to the SACE website to check their end of year results this week.
“We apologise unreservedly,” SACE CEO Dr Neil McGoran said on FIVEAA Breakfast.
“We’re not shying away from this. We didn’t want this error to happen, but it did happen, so we need to do something about that for all of the students concerned.
“The SACE Board, when it did identify this error, immediately thought about the impact that was going to have on the students concerned,” he said.

Shadow Education Minister David Pisoni said the error had damaged SA’s reputation in the competitive education sector.
“This is a growing business for Australia, and South Australia is competing with other states,” Mr Pisoni said.
“We need to have an impeccable reputation when it comes to the end of year results.”
