FIVEAA’s Tom Rehn has reported on 9 News that Rory Sloane and the Adelaide Crows are “on the same page” and close to signing a new deal.

“The biggest name the Crows have been trying to re-sign for some time,” Tom sad on Tuesday. “It’s good news for the Crows.”

“We’re hearing it is getting very close to getting done. It’s not done yet. He hasn’t signed but the football department and his manager are on the same page and they’re now moving forward. We expect this one will get wrapped up hopefully before the start of the season.

“He’s 28… this would be the bumper deal in his career. It would be significant, as many as four years is what we’re hearing.”

Tom said Sloane was likely to get “in the vicinity” of captain Taylor Walker’s deal.

“Anywhere in the range of $800-850,000 a season.

“It would take a catastrophic turn of events for it not to happen.”
