Freshly re-signed Adelaide Crow Tom Lynch says the players haven’t been closer in his time at the club despite the off field “noise”.
Lynch’s extension with the club until 2021 comes as rumours swirl about some players wanting out and the club parting ways with Collective Mind.
“I’m pretty confident that’s in the past,” Lynch said on Monday. “The boys put that behind us.”
“We’re concentrating on winning games of football. I’ve been at this club for a number of years now and I don’t feel like we’ve had as well connected group as we do now. It’s a good place to be. It’s at its highest level.
“The noise has been frustrating… but the facts are the reason I am staying is because of the people at the footy club.
“I’ve always been keen to say and have voiced that.
“I’ve always made it very clear that this is the place I wanted to stay. Being open and honest and up front with that goes a long way.”
Lynch joked he is “always” in the ear of teammate Rory Sloane who is yet to re-sign with the club and remains hopeful the club’s vice captain will stay put.
“I certainly hope so. I’m certainly hopeful — he’s a good friend of mine and an important player at the club.”
