FIVEAA’s own David Wildy will call his 30th straight SANFL grand final this weekend…
On the eve of this milestone, Wilds shares his three most memorable with Michelangelo Rucci:
1. “The bloodbath with North Adelaide and West Adelaide in 1991 for all the drama — and with my former team-mates winning.”
2. “The 1990 Port Adelaide-Glenelg grand final when Magpies full forward Scott Hodges went off at half-time with a serious knee injury, but returned to kick the goals that rewrote the SANFL record for a season to 153. In the commentary team was Rick Davies, who had the record at 151. To see Rick’s face as Scott Hodges came back from the dead to claim the record was priceless.”
3. “And 2000 when Central District beat the Eagles for the club’s first league premiership — and put so much joy on the faces of so many people.”
Voice of @SANFL grand finals, @1395FIVEAA David Wildy, has divided loyalties striking his emotions before 30th call of the big game @theTiserSport https://t.co/tFTYbTOl3I
